BSO Search For Man In Connection To Laundromat Robbery

Pompano Beach (CBSMiami) -- Broward Sheriff's deputies are looking for man in connection to a robbery at a Pompano Beach laundromat Wednesday morning.

According to deputies, they received a call at 8:47 a.m. about a robbery at 1016 E. Sample Road.

A male subject claimed to have a weapon though no weapon was seen on him, according to deputies.

A witness walked into the laundromat at around 8:45 a.m. to find the a woman lying in a pool of blood. The woman is the owner of the laundromat. The witness then encountered the subject coming out of a back closet area. The man ran by the witness and said," I hope she is okay," according to the witness.  The man ran away with what appeared to be a black box.

According to deputies, she was taken to Broward Health North. She has serious injuries but is expected to survive.

Deputies say they are looking for a black male, about 6'2" tall, wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans and red sneakers.
