LAUDERHILL (CBSMiami) — A man was pulled from a canal in Lauderhill Sunday.

According to the Lauderhill Fire Chief Jerry Gonzalez, the man was found in a canal near the 2400 block of NW 41 Avenue.

When officials arrived, they said the man was in cardiac arrest.

BSO reported the incident is not suspicious and that the man had a domestic dispute with his girlfriend Saturday.

Officials said she went to the home to gather her belongings and asked for deputies to assist while she collected her things.
However, the man had already left the home.

BSO said he fled to his father's home and thought he could swim across the canal, but did not make it across.
