POMPANO BEACH (CBSMiami) – A brother and sister are dead in what investigators are calling "an apparent murder suicide" in Pompano Beach.

The shooting happened inside a home along NE 21st Street.

Broward Sheriff's Office deputies say a 24-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman were found dead Wednesday night.

Investigators say a friend of the brother and sister called 911 after hearing the gunshots while outside making a phone call.

Detectives have not said who pulled the trigger.

A motive for the shooting is not yet known.

The names of the victims have not been released.

Because the case was being investigated as a murder-suicide, police were not actively searching for anyone Wednesday night.
