BSO Deputies Take To The Streets In Search Of Driver Who Hit Boys

DANIA BEACH (CBSMiami) -- Broward Sheriff's Deputies took to the streets on Friday in hopes of getting more information on a driver who hit two Dania Beach children leaving them fighting for their lives.

Deputies passed out flyers near the site of the crash asking anyone if they saw or knew anything to please report it.

Their search comes as the family is in turmoil as they pray that the 14 and 8-year old will recover. Meanwhile, they remain in critical condition.

The brothers spent their third night on Thursday in the children's unit at the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital, hooked up to breathing tubes.

Apollo Brown Sr., the children's father said his 14-year-old son, Kelvron Florence, appears to be slightly improving and has been placed on a smaller breathing tube. However, he wasn't as sure about 8-year-old Apollo "AJ" Brown's condition as of Thursday evening.

Deputies said days before a newer model Toyota Tacoma truck slammed into the boys while they were walking home from a basketball game on Monday.

Detectives have received some tips in the case but they need critical information before they can make an arrest.

"We've gotten a dozen tips but not the right car," said Dani Moschella of BSO.

The family is pleading for the driver to come forward.

"He or she know who they are and what they have done. They left me in a lot of pain and I hold a lot of anger but I am humble so my kids are the most important thing to me right now," said Brown.
