FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - The Broward Sheriff's Office is investigating reported threats made against a Cooper City middle school.

Last Friday, a teacher at Pioneer Middle School informed her principal that several students told her they had received phone calls about a potential threat against the school on February 14th - Valentine's Day.

The sheriff's office was contacted and now their Threat Assessment Unit is investigating the suspicious calls.

The threats were made for the same day, one year ago, that confessed gunman Nikolas Cruz went on a shooting rampage at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High in Parkland. Seventeen people, including 13 students, and wounded 17 others.

Detectives encourage anyone who hears about a threat or receives one to report it immediately. BSO's Safer Watch app can also be used to discreetly share information about threats.
