BROWARD (CBSMiami) – A new billboard in Fort Lauderdale says it all: If you get word of a terrorist plot, you now have a financial incentive to tell what you know – $25,000.

‪From 9/11 to Paris, San Bernardino to Brussels and now possibly an EgyptAir flight with dozens on board, we've all seen and heard the images of terrorism.

Broward County Crime Stoppers wants to do their part to try and prevent an attack in South Florida.

A group of local, state and federal agencies joined together Thursday at Broward County Crime Stoppers headquarters. They announced a new program aimed at stopping terrorist attacks before they happen by encouraging people with information or suspicions to speak up.

"‪What we're asking is that they think something catches their attention, if they see something that they think is suspicious, make that call to Crime Stoppers," said Sunrise Police Chief John Brooks.

‪The program works as Crime Stoppers always has – you can remain anonymous and you can get paid for your information if it leads to an arrest. ‪This time for a terrorism charge.

‪The billboard on Andrews Avenue near West Cypress Creek Boulevard promotes the program. So does a mobile billboard, which will display the message around Broward County starting Friday evening.

‪Crime Stoppers released a video Thursday urging people to text, call or email the Crime Stoppers  website if they have information. ‪They're reminding people that if they see something, they should say something. ‪And if they do, the information might lead to an arrest and a big reward.

"‪Make sure we get the information and then that information is given to law enforcement where we can act on it, vet it and see if it's credible or not," Brooks said.

‪If you have any information, the number to call for Broward Crime Stoppers is (954) 493 TIPS.
