Bridgewater Holds Pro Day In Front Of 29 Teams

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (CBSMiami) - Former Miami Northwestern quarterback Teddy Bridgewater may have seen his elite draft status knocked down just a little bit after his pro day on Monday.

Pro Days are set up to make prospects look as good as possible to increase their likelihood of getting selected in the upcoming draft. Bridgewater's day was set up at Louisville to showcase the one-time projected number one pick's throwing ability.

It didn't quite work out that way.

"Most quarterbacks have good pro days," NFL Network's Mike Mayock said of Bridgewater's performance. "Today, I thought it was very average at best."

Former Super Bowl winning quarterback Kurt Warner also said Bridgewater would have to work on both his throwing motion and his footwork to play well in the NFL.

Still, Mayock continues to list Bridgewater as his number one quarterback prospect heading into next month's draft.

A total of 29 teams attended Bridgewater's pro day including the Houston Texans (number one overall pick), Jacksonville Jaguars (third overall pick), Cleveland Browns (number four overall pick), and the Oakland Raiders (fifth overall pick).

Bridgewater is a very accurate passer and the one thing scouts can't argue with is his production.

In three seasons at Louisville, Bridgewater threw for 9,817 yards, completed 68 percent of his passes, 72 touchdowns, and just 24 interceptions, including his 2013 performance of 31 TD's to just 4 interceptions.

If Bridgewater slips past Houston at number one overall, it's not likely he will fall out of the Top 5 with Jacksonville, Cleveland, and Oakland all in desperate need of a franchise quarterback.
