MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) — The Miami Marlins had a successful afternoon playing their first organized game of the spring.

Brad Hand needed only nine pitches in a perfect first inning Monday for the Miami Marlins, who beat Florida International University 7-2.

Hand is out of out of minor league options and likely will be traded if he fails to earn a spot in the Marlins' bullpen.

The Marlins played reserves, and Reid Brignac and Cole Gillespie each had two hits. Brignac and Don Kelly had two RBIs.

FIU's Josh Anderson hit a two-run homer off Justin Nicolino, a top Marlins prospect.
