FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - A Coral Springs man has been charged with the murder is the death of his girlfriend last August.

During a hearing Wednesday, bond was denied for 43-year year old Enrique Macotela.

On August 18th, Macotela called police to report Magdalena Weich, 38, as missing. He reportedly told them she had gone to a Barnes and Noble store, but never returned home. The couple have a four year old child.

At the time, he told CBS4 that he was heartbroken over her disappearance.

"It's hard for me, I love her," he said.

Two days later, Weich's body was found in a wooded area along Sample Road near Coral Springs High School.

Coral Springs police say surveillance cameras from several businesses captured Macotela's car, with its lights and flashers on, pulling off to the side of the road in the early morning hours of August 19th. The spot was approximately 50 feet from where Weich's body was discovered.

While the Medical Examiner has not officially listed a cause of death for Weich, police believe they have probable cause to charge Macotela.
