HIALEAH (CBSMiami) – Some Hialeah residents are asked to boil their water as a precaution Thursday.

An advisory has been issued for residents living near these areas:

  • West 21st Street
  • West 32nd Avenue
  • West 60th Street
  • West 84th Street
  • Palmetto Expressway Way
  • Palm Avenue

According to the City of Hialeah Department of Public Works, the contaminated samples could be due to recent construction activity.

As a precaution, the city advises residents in the affected areas should boil all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes.

The precautionary boil water advisory will remain in effect until bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink, the city said.

Any questions contact the city's Department of Water and Sewer at 305-556-3800.
