Body Found At Hollywood Park ID'd As Missing Diver

FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - Hollywood police have confirmed that a body found off a popular park is that of a diver who went missing over weekend.

The body of Marc Raroha was spotted near the southern end of John U Lloyd State Park just after 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 23rd.

Raroha, 42, was with a group of five other divers last weekend, about a mile off Ft. Lauderdale, when he failed to return to the boat.

The search began almost immediately with boats in the water and helicopters in the air. Ft. Lauderdale police used thermal imaging to try to locate him under the water with no luck.

At this point, it's unclear what happened to Raroha and why he never resurfaced from his dive.

After three days of searching, the Coast Guard suspended their search efforts Monday night.
