Boaters Stranded For Two Days In Atlantic Off Florida

ST. AUGUSTINE (CBSMiami/ AP) — The Coast Guard rescued two people who were stranded for two days in waters off Florida.

Officials say the men aboard the disabled 20-foot boat were stranded 40 miles off St. Augustine when they waved down  a passing boat and asked them for help on Saturday, May24th.

A good Samaritan alerted the Coast Guard who dispatched a crew to rescue the men and tow their boat back to shore. No injuries were reported.

The men told the Coast Guard that their fuel line ruptured, disabling the boat. They also lost power, so they could not use their radio to call for help. The men said they used a tarp to cover themselves from the elements.
