Boaters Ejected In Crash Along Intracoastal

HOMESTEAD (CBSMiami) -- Four people have been hospitalized, including one in critical condition, following a boating accident.

It happened Sunday around 6:30 p.m. south of Turkey Point in the intracoastal waterway.

Officials said the victims' 20-foot pleasure boat struck a channel marker, causing all four passengers to be thrown from the boat.

Miami-Dade Air Rescue airlifted the trauma victim and the Fireboat crew was able to transport the remaining passengers to local area hospitals.

It was unclear what caused the boat to hit the channel marker.
