Biden Raising Money For Alex Sink Campaign In Coral Gables Wednesday
CORAL GABLES (CBSMiami) - Vice President Joe Biden will be traveling to Coral Gables Wednesday night to help raise money for the Congressional campaign of Alex Sink.
The invitation only fundraiser will start a 5 p.m. and required donations are $1,000 for a guest, $2,600 for a VIP reception and photo line, and $5,000 for hosting and VIP.
Sink is running for the 13th Congressional District's seat which was left open by the passing of longtime Representative Bill Young.
A Sink spokesperson told the Tampa Bay Times, "Alex Sink agrees with the administration on some issues and disagrees on others. But what Alex is really focused on is bringing Republicans and Democrats together to get Congress focused on solving problems that matter, and taking the independent, moderate voices of Pinellas to Washington."
Sink's race will be closely watched in political circles as a test of the GOP plan to run against Obamacare. Democrats haven't run from the issue, but aren't focusing on it either.
