Authorities Believe Police Impersonator Who Sexually Battered Woman Headed To Miami-Dade

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Investigators have reason to believe a man who impersonated a police officer and sexually battered a woman in Bonita may be traveling towards Miami-Dade County.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office said the first incident occurred on Tuesday.
The victim told authorities a man – wearing what appeared to be a police tactical vest, dark pants, firearm and a police-type insignia – presented himself as a police officer.
Because she had no reason to dispute him, she allowed the suspect to enter her home. Once inside, the suspect sexually battered the victim.
Another woman and 4-year-old child in the home were unharmed.
After the incident, the suspect fled the area in what's believed to be a silver or tan sedan.
Authorities released a composite sketch of the suspect Wednesday night.
At this time, the sheriff's office cannot confirm this is connected to suspicious incidents in Fort Myers.
In that case, the Lee County Sheriff's Office said a man entered a Suncoast Credit Union and identified himself as a U.S. marshal and asked the staff a series of strange questions.
The same man was reported to have entered a Fort Myers Check Cashing Store.
He was wearing a bulletproof vest, badge and had a holstered firearm on his hip.
