Athletes Hit South Beach For Triathlon

MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) -- Thousands of athletes attended the  2014 Life Time South Beach Triathlon  on Sunday morning.

Athletes swam, rode their bikes and ran through the sun and sand of South Beach. It was all to raise money to support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

The triathlon started  at 6:45 a.m. and lasted until about 11: 00 a.m.

Lanes were reduced throughout the area until 11: 00 a. m. All the lanes have been reopened on parts of 5th Street  between Ocean Drive- Alton Road, MacArthur Causeway, parts of NE 2nd Ave, Ocean Drive and the Julia Tuttle Causeway.
