Man Shot & Killed While Driving Crashes Car Into House

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami-Dade police are on the scene of a shooting in Brownsville where one person has died.

The shooting took place at 1901 NW 46 St. at around 8:20 p.m.

"According to investigators, the victim was driving his vehicle eastbound on NW 46th Street when an unknown vehicle drove beside him and began shooting," explained Miami-Dade police spokesperson Robin Pinkard. "The victim lost control of his vehicle and subsequently struck a house"

CBS4's Tiani Jones said noted a dozen bullet casings on the ground.

All of the casings were in front of the home that the victim crashed their car into.

Jones was told police are speaking with witnesses who were in the area at the time.

However, Miami-Dade police say they have few details as to what led up to this shooting.

Police have set up a perimeter while they search for the suspect.

Miami police responded to the scene first after ShotSpotter detected gun fire in the area. The investigation has been handed over to Miami-Dade police.

As for the man who was killed, police have not released his identity.
