Astronaut Buzz Aldrin To Become Professor At Florida Institute Of Technology

MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) – The second person to walk on the moon, former astronaut Buzz Aldrin, will become a professor at Florida Institute of Technology.

Anthony Catanese, the university's president, announced Thursday that Aldrin, who walked on the moon in 1969, will be a research professor of aeronautics.

Catanese also announced that the school is planning to establish the Buzz Aldrin Institute.

Florida Institute of Technology, located in Melbourne, Florida, has five academic divisions with emphases on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
