MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A woman accused in a crash that killed a Delray Beach Police officer and critically injured another has been arrested.

Lacy Morris, who was wanted on charges of DUI manslaughter, was taken into custody Tuesday night in Broward County, according to her attorney.

"They didn't give us a chance to surrender on our terms as we had asked," said Morris' attorney, Evan Hoffman.

On April 8th, Delray Beach Police Officer Christine Braswell and Bernenda Marc were in Key West on vacation.

They were riding a motor scooter when police say they were struck by a vehicle driven by Morris.

Toxicology reports came back this week showing Morris had a blood alcohol level of 0.17 – slightly more than double the legal limit.

Braswell died from her injuries and Marcs was critically injured.

Morris' attorney says she's been fully cooperating with the investigation and planned on turning herself in.

"We are pleading not guilty.  We are going to contest everything about this case," Hoffman said.

Morris is expected to make a court appearance Wednesday morning.

Hoffman said she's also expected to be transported to a Key West facility.
