MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Americans, who don't agree with the outcome of this week's Presidential Election, are quietly showing their solidarity. By wearing a safety pin, they are showing their support for minorities, LGBT individuals, women, Muslims and any other groups who were targeted by President-Elect Donald Trump.
The safety pins are a message, a declaration to the world, that they are allies in the fight against intolerance and should be considered a "safe space."

Even celebrities, such as Patrick Stewart, are joining the movement.

The #safetypin idea was inspired by a movement following Brexit in the United Kingdom as a message of hope and it's catching on here now.
Many people are posting selfies on social media wearing safety pins and writing, "#Safetypin, I'm an ally... All those exposed to hate and violence, you're not alone...."
#safetypin on, in solidarity with those who Trump hates. I am a safe ally & I believe in a better world than the one I woke up to yesterday. pic.twitter.com/ynuf1Eg4UH
