American Airlines To Now Offer Maternity Leave

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - One of South Florida's largest employers is adding a major benefit for mothers-to-be.

American Airlines has announced that they will be now offer 10 weeks of paid maternity leave.

This is a significant shift for the company which currently offers no paid time off for new mothers.

The new policy takes effect on March 1st.

The air carrier employs about 12,000 at its major hub at Miami International Airport.
