Amazon Begins Hiring For Florida Distribution Centers

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Internet giant Amazon has started the process of hiring people for its two new Florida distribution centers.

One center in Ruskin will handle shipping and packing relatively small items while the other in Lakeland will handle larger packages.

Overall more than 1,000 people will be hired.

Amazon has already started collecting sales tax from Floridians.

Estimates say the tax will mean about $80 million annually -- money the state wasn't getting before.
