A Couple Dimes Could Bring Millions At Gulfstream

HALLANDALE BEACH (AP) — Someone could turn 20 cents into millions of dollars at Gulfstream Park.

The entirety of Gulfstream's Rainbow 6 betting pool will be paid out Monday, and the minimum bet is a mere two dimes. Track officials say the payout could be as much as $16 million.

All one has to do: Pick six straight winners, starting with the fifth race. As of Sunday morning, there were 2,509,056 possible combinations of winners.

To bet them all, it would cost $501,811.20.

Typically, a bettor would have to hold the only ticket in the six-race sequence to win the carried-over jackpot. But the pool would have to be paid out by the end of the state's fiscal year in June, and Gulfstream decided Memorial Day was the right day to make that happen.
