76ers Blow Past Heat 99-79 To Take Game 3 Of Semifinal Series

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Miami Heat 99-79 in Game 3 of their Eastern Conference semifinal game Friday night.

In a losing effort, Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler scored 33 points and grabbed 9 rebounds, making 12 of 22 shots taken.

After two stellar home performances which saw Miami fire on all cylinders, the Heat's flame was a tad off, as newly-awarded NBA 6th Man of the Year Tyler Herro was the only other Heat player in double-digits scoring 14 points.

Kyle Lowry returned for Miami after missing the first two games of the series.

76ers' Joel Embiid also returned, while wearing a protective mask from a facial fracture suffered in Philadelphia's first-round matchup against the Toronto Raptors. He recorded an 18-point and 11-rebound double-double.

Embiid's return paid off dividends for Philadelphia, but the shooting performance from Danny Green helped the 76ers pull away.

Tyerese Maxey went scoreless in the first half for Philadelphia, but later scored all of his 21 points in the second half.

Game 4 will take place Sunday night in Philadelphia.
