SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE (CBSMiami) – Miami-Dade firefighters rescued a man trapped inside a tractor trailer early Saturday morning.

The man was able to survive inside the cab of the truck because of an air pocket.

The truck went into a canal on SW 8 Street, 20 miles west of Krome Avenue about 4:30 a.m.

A rescue diver gave his mouthpiece to the driver of the truck to guide him out of the cab.

The driver told fire rescue officials, he could not swim and was scared to exit the cab of the truck.
