3 men injured in Westchester stabbing, Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office says

Surveillance video captures moments before triple stabbing in Westchester

Three people were injured in a stabbing overnight at a Westchester home, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office.

It happened in the area of SW 16 Street and SW 93 Court.

The sheriff's office said they received a call about the stabbing around 4:30 a.m. When deputies arrived, they found three men with stab wounds.

The three people were taken as trauma alerts to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. One of the men was in critical condition, the other two were listed as stable.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Det. Samantha Choon said the victims were between 31 and 33 years old, and the suspect was between 30 and 40. She said they do not have a name or description of him to release or a motive in this case.

"One man is in critical condition and the other 2 are in stable condition. We do believe the victims know the subject. That's why we believe this is an isolated case. We do not have a suspect in custody at this time," she said. "We urge people to come forward and help us if they have any surveillance tape."

CBS News Miami was there as a tow truck took one car from the scene. Investigators say one of the victims stayed inside it until help could arrive. Neighbors said there are three efficiency apartments in the residence. Three people in the home were taken out by deputies and detained for questioning.

On Thursday afternoon, two people were seen picking up some blood-stained items outside the home, but they said they did not want to say anything. She added that this appeared to be an isolated incident and there was no threat to the public.

Videos show moments before the stabbing happened

CBS News Miami obtained surveillance and Ring camera video from three different homes that captured several men walking to a car and then a fight breaks out, and one man falls to the ground. Other people scatter in different directions, and a car drives off.

Then one of the men runs in the same direction. Moments later, deputies arrived.

Victims knew the suspect, the sheriff's office says

Choon said their preliminary investigation indicates that the men know the person who stabbed them, but that person was not in custody as of Thursday morning.

Choon added that detectives are releasing limited information because they have not been able to speak with the victims.

"Once we are able to speak with the victims and they are receiving treatment and we have to respect that, we should be able to get more information," she said.
