PINELLAS PARK (CBSMiami/AP) – Three women were injured when a car came crashing through the outdoor dining area of a Tampa Bay area Applebee's Bar & Grill, according to authorities.

Alvonia Morris, 60, was attempting to park in a handicapped spot just in front of the patio Thursday afternoon, according to Pinellas Park police. She told officers she was trying to put the car in park when it moved forward into the dining area.

Two women received minor injuries from being struck by the vehicle and debris. A third suffered a broken ankle when she was partially pinned against a wall.

On the patio area, support beams, railings, tables, chairs and the exterior wall of the building were damaged.

Officers didn't detect any sign of impairment from Morris. She was cited with careless driving.
