Officer-involved shooting in North Miami

MIAMI - One person required hospitalization Thursday morning following reports of a police-involved shooting in a Miami neighborhood.

Chopper 4 was over the scene on Northwest 17th Avenue and 127th Street.

Police said it started in Hialeah after an 83-year-old man was held at gunpoint by three carjackers.

Moments later, officers spotted the car. Soon after, a chase broke out and ended in North Miami, after all three suspects bailed out.

One of them was armed and according to police, an officer fired at him, striking the suspect.

He was taken to the hospital.

The other two suspects are now in custody.

It is not clear if one of the suspects had been shot by police.

This all ended in the area of NW 127 Street and 15 Avenue.

Images from Chopper4 showed a man being loaded into an ambulance.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement will be investigating the shooting.
