3 Florida ID Theft Suspects Caught In NY; 2 Still Sought

MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) - Two men remain at large after fleeing from New York state police who had arrested three of their companions from Florida following a chase on Interstate 81 in central New York., according to authorities.

Troopers say the suspects are from Broward County.

Troopers stopped a car traveling south on I-81 in Cortland County on Friday, according to NY State police. The car sped off into neighboring Broome County, where the driver stopped on the northbound ramp at Whitney Point, 15 miles north of Binghamton.

Troopers say they caught three men after an intensive search. The other two men remain at large Monday morning.

Police say the three suspects were carrying multiple stolen credit cards and identifications for numerous people from across the United States. They're also wanted for questioning in the Utica, New York, area for suspected bank fraud.
