Health Insurance Deadline Approaching

DAVIE (CBSMiami/AP) - The clock is ticking for Floridians who are interested in signing up for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act.

With the March 31st deadline on the horizon, Democratic U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, R-23, is hosting an enrollment event Sunday at the Institute of Public Safety at Broward College.

The event starts at 9 AM and those interested are asked to bring social security numbers or document numbers for immigrants. Attendees will also need employer and income information for every family in-need of insurance.

Those enrolling should also bring any current health insurance policy numbers.

More than four million Americans have enrolled in health care plans, including more than 442,000 Floridians, according to the Department of Health and Human Services.
