2 Sent To Hospital In Overnight SW Miami-Dade Shooting

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Two people are in the hospital after an overnight shooting in Southwest Miami-Dade.

Miami-Dade Police responded to an apartment complex off 141st Place near 262nd Street to reports of shots fired.

"Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! I just heard a lot of shots," said witness Mike Jones. "It sounded like AK-47s, that's what it sound like. I ain't really see nothing really. I just seen people screaming."

Neighbors said they heard a number of shots fired and saw the victims – at least two people – on the ground.

"I didn't know which way to go or what to do, but start running because I thought it was coming at me," said witness Jimmy – who did not give his last name.

Those who live in the neighborhood are left in fear.

"They weren't aiming for no cars or no houses, no windows. They was aiming to hit them," said Jones.
