1 Killed, 4 Injured In Shooting At ZombiCon

FORT MYERS (CBSMiami) – There was real horror at a zombie-themed event in Fort Myers after one man was killed and four others were hurt in a shooting late Saturday night.

The Fort Myers Police Department said they began investigating at 11:44 p.m. after there were reports of shots fired in the 2200 block of First Street during ZombieCon.

Video overlooking the scene showed the crowd of thousands running for their lives after hearing the gunshots.

Police said they found Expavious Tyrell Taylor at 2224 First Street suffering from a gunshot wound. He died at the scene.

Four others were hurt in the shooting. They were taken to Lee Memorial Hospital. Their injuries were considered non-line threatening.

The event was immediately shut down.

ZombieCon is an annual event that draws thousands.
