'You Can Say A Lot With A Heart': Twitter Replaces Star Icon With Heart

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — It's out with the stars and in with the hearts on Twitter.

The social media site has replaced its star icon used to indicate a favorite tweet with a heart.

It's also replaced the word "Favorite" with "Like."

Realizing that the star symbol can at times be confusing especially for new users, the company made the change hoping to make Twitter more rewarding.

The heart, the company says, "is a universal symbol that resonates across languages, cultures, and time zones."

Twitter hopes the changes will attract new users.
