Yorba Linda Man Suspected In Ninja Robbery At Placentia Pharmacy

PLACENTIA (CBSLA.com) — A man suspected of robbing a Placentia pharmacy while dressed as a ninja was arrested Friday, police said.

Douglas Sherman Unger II, 28, of Yorba Linda was taken into custody at about 11:50 a.m. while sitting in a vehicle at a gas station in the 400 block of South Anaheim Hills Road in Anaheim Hills, police said. He was later booked into Orange County Jail on $50,000 bail.

Unger is suspected of robbing a Walgreens Pharmacy, 1201 E. Yorba Linda Blvd., at about 7:50 p.m. on July 29, wearing what was described as a ninja-type mask and armed with a sword. Video surveillance later showed the suspect wore a ski mask and used a machete in the robbery, police said.

Placentia police detectives had identified Unger as a suspect in the robbery from leads on the case, which was then corroborated by witnesses.

Detectives continue to investigate the robbery, and anyone with information about Unger, this robbery or similar crimes can contact Placentia police at (714) 993-8146.
