Wrong Fire Alert Sends Many Into Panic
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities are trying to figure out which agency sent out a text alert across California including the Riverside and San Bernardino counties saying: "Fire Warning....Evacuate Now."
The alert was accidentally sent to hundreds of thousands of people not affected by fire. The alert was meant for those near the Manzanita Fire in the mountain areas of Poppet Flats and Silent Valley.
Did you get this? The mistake just sent to people all over SoCal! #CBS2News at 11p w @Patharveynews @RickGarciaNews @AmberLeeNews pic.twitter.com/JSePN9CsIf
