Woman's Body Found Inside Plastic Trash Bin In South LA

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a woman's body was found inside a plastic trash bin in the backyard of a home in the Florence area of South Los Angeles.

Los Angeles police Lt. John Jenal says investigators believe the woman was killed several miles from where the body was found but the cause of death has not yet been determined.

"There's evidence that the person may have been wheeled in the trash can from one location to another," the lieutenant told City News Service.

He also said the body was discovered by a female resident of a home near the intersection of McKinley Avenue and East 79th Street.

The discovery was reported to police Friday evening about 10:10 p.m.

The unidentified victim appeared to be in her 20s, Jenal said, adding that her identity was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
