Big Bear Lake Victim Identified As Missing Irvine Woman

BIG BEAR (CBSLA.com) — The San Bernardino County Coroner Friday confirmed a body found in Big Bear Lake was that of a missing Irvine woman.

The body was discovered during an aerial search for Lisa Ann Cimbaluk around 10 a.m. Thursday in the south shore area of the lake, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department said.

Cimbaluk was reported missing on Dec. 30 by family members after she was last seen at her home the day before, the Irvine Police Department said.

The 35-year-old reportedly left without telling anyone and was not considered an experienced hiker. She was also not carrying a cellphone.

Cimbaluk's snow-covered vehicle was located Sunday by San Bernardino County sheriff's deputies near the base of a hiking trail in Fawnskin near Big Bear Lake.

The cause of death has yet to be confirmed.
