Woman's Body Discovered At Freeway Construction Site In Riverside Deemed 'Suspicious'

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com)  —  Riverside Police patrol officers responded to a call from the CHP just after 1:30 Saturday afternoon following reports of a woman's body being found in a freeway construction area.

Riverside Fire Department personnel -- as well as CHP -- responded to the location.

Authorities said the body of an adult female was found at the construction site in the area of the westbound SR91 near the Ivy Street overpass.

The death is being investigated by detectives from the robbery-homicide unit and forensic department technicians.

While no cause of death was immediately revealed, investigators said the death was suspicious in nature.

The woman has not yet been identified and an autopsy -- by the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Officer -- is pending.
