WESTMINSTER (CBSLA.com) — A Huntington Beach woman will be arraigned on several charges Tuesday after she reportedly knocked her live-in boyfriend off his scooter, then backed over it with her vehicle.

The incident was caught on tape outside an apartment complex by a neighbor Sunday morning and posted online.

Laura Cox, 47, has been charged with one misdemeanor count each of driving under the influence of drugs with a prior conviction, use and under the influence of a controlled substance, domestic violence battery, and vandalism under $400, with a sentencing enhancement for a 2013 prior conviction for driving under the influence of drugs.

"She is accused of screaming at John Doe to move his motorized scooter, on which he was sitting blocking her exit," the Orange County District Attorney's Offices said. "Cox is accused of pushing the victim, knocking him and the scooter over onto the ground."

She the proceeded to get into her pickup, reversed the vehicle and hit the scooter, narrowly missing the victim.

Cox was stopped by a nearby Huntington Beach police officer.

If convicted, she faces a maximum of four years in county jail.

Cox's boyfriend was not injured in the incident and refused to personally press charges.
