Woman Found Shot To Death In Garden Grove

GARDEN GROVE (CBSLA.com) — Homicide detectives Thursday investigated the shooting death of a 31-year-old woman in Garden Grove.

Officers were sent shortly after 11 p.m. Wednesday to a home located in the 13500 block of Purdy Street for report of a shooting, according to police.

Upon their arrival, authorities located a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the front yard of the home.

Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Her identity is being withheld pending family notification. Officials say she last resided in San Clemente.

Neighbors told CBS2's Jasmine Viel the victim was a mother.

Detectives described the shooter as a Hispanic man believed to be between the ages of 25 and 30 years old who has a medium build.

The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
