Woman Sentenced To Animal Abuse Counseling, Community Labor For Taping Cat's Paws
SAN FERNANDO (AP) — A Southern California woman has been ordered to undergo animal abuse counseling and perform community labor for mistreating a cat found with its paws taped together.
Los Angeles County prosecutors say Kylie Stringer was also ordered Wednesday to comply with a ban on having direct access to animals for five years and attend drug rehab.
The 26-year-old pleaded no contest in January to one misdemeanor count each of cruelty to an animal and possession of a controlled substance.
Co-defendant Tyler Scott Vest is set to be sentenced April 5.
The pair was arrested after deputies found heroin in their vehicle. The deputy also found a cat carrier containing a feline with paws bound together with electrical tape.
Animal Control officers took possession of the cat.
