Woman Killed, Boy Wounded At San Gabriel Apartment Shooting

SAN GABRIEL (CBSLA.com) — A woman was fatally shot Thursday at an apartment complex in San Gabriel, and authorities say her brother is wanted in connection with the shooting.

Deputies responded to a shots fired call around 6:40 a.m. in the 5100 block of Rosemead Boulevard and discovered the body of a black woman in her 30s inside a unit, the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office said.

A 12-year-old boy, believed to be the woman's son, also suffered minor injuries in the shooting. He was taken to a local hospital in unknown condition for treatment.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's homicide detectives identified the prime suspect in the shooting as 31-year-old Johnny Goins, the brother of the victim. He remains at large.

"It appears this was the result of some sort of family or domestic dispute," said Lt. Victor Lewandowski of the LA County Sheriff's Department.
