Police Looking For 3 Suspects In Fatal Stabbing Of Pregnant Woman In Venice

VENICE (CBSLA.com) — Police investigating the fatal stabbing of a pregnant mother in Venice searched an SUV Tuesday night, less than 24 hours after the victim was killed.

A tow truck hauled away the small dark SUV on Millwood Avenue after Los Angeles police detectives processed it looking for evidence.

Investigators told CBS'2 Rachel Kim that the vehicle was part of their investigation into the murder of Jasmine Preciado.

The 22-year-old victim died from stab wounds after getting into a fight near the corner of Pacific and Windward Avenues around 9:30 p.m. Monday, Los Angeles police Lt. J. Radtke said.

The three people involved in the fight drove off in a dark SUV.

A source told Kim a security video showed the attack. But she was not able to confirm the footage with police.

In it, one can see a group of people gathered around a dark SUV. At one point, someone tried to walk away from the group.

That's when another person grabbed that person from behind while the others rushed towards the two until they were out of frame.

A few seconds later, someone in a light shirt ran to the front of the SUV with a shiny object in his or her hand.

Earlier Tuesday, Preciado's aunt and cousin were overcome with emotion as they lit candles in her memory.

They said the victim had a three year-old daughter and was four months pregnant.

"She loved her daughter. She's going to be missed. She was such a happy person," cousin Christina Aguillon said as she wept.

Police said the three suspects on the loose were described as two Hispanic women and a Hispanic man.

Anyone with information about the stabbing can call investigators at LAPD's West Bureau Homicide Division at (213) 382-3470.
