Woman Arrested In Alleged Hot Oil Attack On Couple

FONTANA (AP) — A Georgia woman has been arrested in Southern California after she allegedly threw hot cooking oil on a sleeping couple, causing serious burns.

The Fontana Police Department says 25-year-old Chrystal Dunn of Macon was arrested Monday on suspicion of aggravated mayhem. She remains jailed.

Police say the victims, a 42-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, drove to a medical center early Monday and told authorities that they'd been attacked in a Fontana home as they slept. Both had second- and third-degree burns.

Police say the woman was burned over more than 17 percent of her body, including her face and neck. The man had burns to the upper right side of his body.

Police haven't disclosed a motive for the attack or the relationship between Dunn and the victims.
