Woman, 64, Faces Attempted Murder Charges After Argument Over Xbox

GRAND TERRACE (CBSLA.com) — A 63-year-old woman faced attempted murder charges Tuesday following an argument over an Xbox gaming console.

Bonnie Rucker, of Grand Terrace, was arrested around 12:45 p.m. Monday at her home in the 12000 block of Honey Hill Drive, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department said.

Deputies responded to the residence where Rucker said she was in an argument with Scott Adcock, 34, over the video game system and that she had shot herself in the hand.

"During the argument, Rucker pointed a loaded .357 caliber handgun directly at Adcock, while telling him she was going to shoot him," officials said.

During a brief struggle, Adcock hit the gun and it discharged into Rucker's hand.

She was treated at Loma Linda University Medical Center and then booked at the West Valley Detention Center where she was  being held on $1 million bail.

Adcock was not injured in the incident.
