Crews Extinguish Woldrich Fire In San Fernando Valley

LAKE VIEW TERRACE (CBSLA.com) — Firefighters Tuesday extinguished a stubborn brush fire in the San Fernando Valley.

The so-called Woldrich Fire erupted around 11:30 p.m. Monday near the 210 Freeway, according to firefighters.

Hot, dry weather conditions contributed to the blaze, which charred more than 21 acres.

Firefighters said they have prevented flames from continuing to spread in the area.

CBS2's Jasmine Viel reported helicopters handled most of the workload overnight, making water drops over the fast moving fire, which has charred several trees that stand 60-feet tall.

No injuries or evacuations were reported.

Firefighters extinguished the so-called Parkdale Fire on Monday, which burned less than an acre in La Cañada Flintridge.
