Winning $30M Mega Millions Ticket Sold In Century City

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A very lucky Southland resident is waking up $30 million richer after being the only person to pick all six numbers in Friday's Mega Millions drawing.

The lucky numbers were 1, 10, 15, 41, 54, and the Mega number was 9.

The winning ticket was sold at a gas station in Century City, located at 10389 Santa Monica Boulevard.

"'Cause every single person that comes in and buys a ticket is like, 'If you sold me the winning ticket I'm going to hook you up,' and do this, do that. I'm like 'Okay, yeah, we've heard this a million times,' but you never expect anybody to go through with it. But, hey, who knows?" said gas station employee Rashid Chowdry with a laugh.

Another ticket sold in the San Francisco area matched the first five numbers, but not the Mega number, winning $233,651.

Friday's drawing was the third since the last time a ticket with all six winning numbers was sold.

The odds of matching all five numbers and the Mega number is 1 in 258,890,850, according to the Mega Millions website. The overall chance of winning a prize is 1 in 14.71.

The Mega Millions game is played in 43 states, the District of Columbia and U.S. Virgin Islands.
