Why You May Want To Drink Whole Milk Instead Of Skim

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — When it comes to dairy fat, more might actually be good for you.

A new study published in the journal Circulation suggests that full-fat dairy products may offer benefits that non-fat alternatives can't.

Specifically, researchers followed milk drinkers for 15 years and found that those who drank whole milk and ate other full-fat dairy products had a significantly lower risk of diabetes than non-fat milk drinkers.

The researchers say it could be that dairy fat helps keep you full longer.

It may also help reduce cravings for sugar and carbohydrates.
