Whittier Man Pleads No Contest To Sexually Molesting Girl, 5, For Years

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A Whittier man has pleaded no contest to sexually molesting a 5-year-old girl over three years, authorities said Friday.

Jonathan Javier Ruvalcaba, 29, entered his plea Wednesday to continuous sexual abuse and forcible lewd act upon a child.

He is expected to be sentenced to 24 years in prison and will have to register as a sex offender for life.

Ruvalcaba began sexually molesting the young girl in 2010 and continued the abuse for three years and was arrested on May 13, 2014. Sheriff's officials say DNA evidence in the case played a big role in the investigation.
