Wheelchair Bound Man Victimized In Palmdale Home Invasion

PALMDALE (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Thursday said a wheelchair-bound man was targeted in a recent home invasion robbery in the Antelope Valley.

The robbery happened around 2 p.m. on Aug. 31 in the 38800 block of 4th Street E in Palmdale, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.

The victim answered a knock on his door and "two unknown black males pushed their way into the apartment and knocked the victim out of his wheelchair,"  Deputy Jodi Wolfe said.

The men rummaged through the victim's bedroom and stole his cell phone, mini safe, identification and $1,000 in cash before leaving.

Video surveillance also showed that third suspect --a heavy-set black woman -- was also involved in the crime.

"The video showed the female suspect holding the elevator door open and assisting the other two suspects in leaving the location," Wolfe said.

At the time of the incident, one of the male suspects was wearing a t-shirt with a large unknown logo on the front.  The second suspect was wearing a black do-rag on his head.

Both suspects are between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall and approximately 170 to 180lbs.

Anyone with information should contact Detective Gilbert at (661)272-2446.
